The research and monitoring of trademarks comprise no results related to conceptual similarities to the searched input. It is possible, that trademarks with an earlier priority exist, but have not yet been disclosed at the time of research. Moreover, a trademark can also face opposition based on signs not disclosed in databases (e.g. so-called genericized trademarks).

In principle, research and monitoring comprise only published documents. Patent applications are normally published 18 to 24 months after the application was filed. Thus, it is possible, that a relevant document cannot be found at the time of research.
